Occupy, Resist, Produce – Rimaflow
video 34’ 20’’ (it/eng), 2014
Oliver Ressler & Dario Azzellini
In their series of films and installations “Occupy, Resist, Produce”, Dario Azzellini and Oliver Ressler focus on the occupation and recuperation of factories in Europe as a deliberate step towards workers’ control. In the three exemplary factories in Milan, Rome and Thessaloniki the workers took the initiative and became protagonists, building horizontal social relations on the production sites and adopting mechanisms of collective decision-making. The recuperated workplaces reinvented themselves, building links with local communities and social movements, and thus became components of a socio-political action rather than a merely economic procedure.

Chiara Balsamo, Duccio Scotini A City of the World
Video HD trasferito on dvd, 9’
2013
A City of the World springs from a series of encounters which took place in Val di Susa (Italy) and reacts to the numerous arrests that affected the No Tav (No Speed Train) movement since 26 January 2012. Just as in the novel “The Cities of the World” by Elio Vittorini from which the text in the video is drawn – the city is understood an expression of a model of comunitarian living that lends itself to a political project.

A Tiger’s Leap wrests shards shivers from the past, unfulfilled, failed and successful revolutionary practices, composes them in the present with new struggles, to invent case by case, constituent powers, new and better forms of conviviality. Isabell Lorey wrote the text “The Expanded Present” for Isola Utopia, in San Mauro Cilento, end of July 2014. Voiceover and translation: Steve Piccolo.

Isola Solar Cloud (by Nicola Uzunowski)
Camilla Topuntoli
Video 1’20’’ (it/eng)
2014
This solar cloud is part of an ongoing research of Nikola Uzunovski.
The sun-clouds are hot air balloons that rise with solar energy.
They are made up of three layers of plastic that accumulate and preserve solar
energy inside them. Such clouds can be used to create microclimates suitable
for extreme meteorological conditions, thus becoming social attractors.
In the context of Isola Utopia in San Mauro Cilento, Nikola Uzunovski
sought to create clouds with which a human being could fly.
